About Court Judiciary

An operational reference for the people who work in the courts of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

What this site is

Court Judiciary is an operational reference for the people who work in the courts of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These are separate legal systems with their own courts and their own rules, and each section states its own scope and sources:

  • England and Wales. Civil, Family and Criminal Procedure Rules. HMCTS venues.
  • Scotland. Sheriff courts, the Court of Session and the High Court of Justiciary. Its own rules of court — no CPR, FPR or CrimPR.
  • Northern Ireland. Its own court rules and judiciary, administered by NICTS.
