Publication of Family judgments

Guidance on publishing Family judgments, issued by Sir Andrew McFarlane, President of the Family Division, can be downloaded below.

The guidance is intended to help judges, magistrates, legal advisers and other professionals make sound representations and decisions about whether a particular judgment should be published and what anonymisation would be necessary and proportionate to facilitate that without compromising private and family life.

Parties in Family cases may also find it useful to read to gain an idea of whether a judgment relating to them may be published and what that might entail.
