Technology and Construction Court annual report 2019-2020

This report covers the work of the Technology and Construction Court (TCC) in England and Wales for the period from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2020.

The TCC is a specialist court within the Queen’s Bench Division, and is also part of the Business and Property Court which sits in the Rolls Building.

The TCC deals primarily with litigation of disputes arising in the field of technology and construction, and also (increasingly) procurement claims. The former includes traditional building cases, adjudication enforcement, engineering and technology disputes, claims for professional negligence, claims by or against local authorities concerning the development of land, dilapidations claims, nuisance claims, fire claims, IT disputes (relating to both hardware and software) and challenges to arbitrators’ decisions in respect of any of the above matters.
