Mrs Justice Thornton DBE

Mrs Justice Thornton sits in the King’s Bench Division.
She became a full-time High Court Judge in February 2019 (and a part-time Deputy High Court Judge in 2017).
Before becoming a judge, she practised at the bar and was appointed King’s Counsel. She has also worked for the international law firms, Allen & Overy LLP and Simmons & Simmons, as well as at the European Commission in Brussels.
She grew up in Nottingham, attending a state school, before reading law at Cambridge University.
