Lord Justice Males

Lord Justice Stephen Males was called to the Bar in 1978 and took silk in 1998. He practised for over 30 years at the commercial bar as an advocate and (latterly) as an arbitrator. He was an Assistant Recorder and Recorder of the Crown Court and a Deputy High Court Judge sitting in the Administrative Court and Commercial Court. He is a Bencher of the Middle Temple. He was appointed to the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division, now King’s Bench Division) in 2012 and was a Presiding Judge of the North Eastern Circuit from 2015 to 2018. He was appointed as a Lord Justice of Appeal in January 2019.
