Practice Direction from the Senior President of Tribunals: Panel composition

On 19 May 2023 the Senior President of Tribunals announced his decisions on proposed changes to panel composition in various Chambers of the First-tier Tribunal.

It was announced that a Practice Direction implementing the changes that had been decided on in respect of the Social Entitlement Chamber (SEC) would be published in due course.

The SPT has now issued the below Practice Direction, which only implements the changes in respect of criminal injuries compensation cases in the SEC. Changes that have been decided on in respect of other cases will be implemented in due course by means of a further revised Practice Direction.
